Transform everyday trash into beautiful fine-art prints at Waldo’s & Company during this eco-friendly elective centered on upcycled intaglio printmaking. You will learn how the plastic and metallic linings of clean juice or milk cartons make them the perfect flexible materials for traditional drypoint etching. You will use simple etching tools to incise lines and peel away carton layers to create deep ink pockets to create prints with rich darks and range for deep visual contrast. Unlike traditional metal plate etching, this sustainable method avoids toxic acids entirely, allowing you to quickly prepare your plate and run it through our high-pressure etching press and repeat, repeat, repeat! We provide all the necessary tools, upcycled materials, non-toxic inks, and fine-art papers, making this relaxed evening in our workshop ideal for eco-conscious creators.

NOTE: Electives are available only for participants currently enrolled in one of the main workshops. The cost for the Tetrapak class is $150. You can purchase all electives offered as a cost saving bundle for $500. Participants will be given instructions on how to purchase after reserving their spot with a full payment to a main workshop.
